This is mostly for Neil and Karen. I’m not sure many more of you will care, but here you are anyway. In April I had the fantastic opportunity to help out my brother in law with his wedding. It was SO much fun! And way more work that I anticipated, but totally worth it. They were so happy, and everything turned out better than I could ever hope for. And thanks to Karen (and a little to Mrs. Megan Mason) to helping me realize that yellow orange and pink aren’t bad colors. They are gorgeous. This was such a gorgeous wedding. I had so much fun helping and getting to know Karen better. I’m so glad she’s in our family now! And….I’ll be done now except for a bit of explanation.
This is a tribute to what beautiful colors Karen chose. Way to go! (her bouquet, a test vase, the real and finished centerpieces, bridesmaid headbands, and in the center-POMS)Here is some experimenting as we tried to decide which and how to make the centerpieces as pretty as possible.I had a lot of fun setting things up in the middle of my in-laws kitchen floor.I had never done a super fancy cake before, but always wanted to learn how. Thanks to Youtube and lots of practice I ended up making the wedding cake! It was SO fun! (practice piping, testing out rice crispies, a practice cake (Jon really enjoyed all the practice, because he got a lot of cake) different frostings, and in the center is the actual cake!)Getting ready. Me working on the cake, Ben helping with poms, Brian and Steve working on the gorgeous tenting. Hank and Grandma Ellen helped a bunch too. It took all day, but they did such an amazing job! It was really fantastic.More set up. Sarah and Grandma, Michelle and Travis (eats pretzels-Maggie still says that every time she is holding a stick pretzel. I don’t get it.) A messy work place. Neil and Karen stapling the screens together, and Kim prepping the sheets.Coming out of the temple, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph! This set is probably my favorite! You can see how totally happy they are to have just been married in the temple for eternity, then to come out and see all their family and friends. It’s such a wonderful feeling. I love seeing it on their cute little faces. The obligatory family pictures outside the temple. Ralphs.Parents.Parents and grandparents.Burnells.A new happy family! All the ladies!Ralph sisters!
